Objectives:

The aim of this class is to create awareness of and develop some of the skills expected in graduate professional engineers. These include development of communication skills (both oral and written), but also issues such as ethics, societal impact and future trends.

Syllabus:

The module will teach the following:

Communication skills: written and oral.Group working skills.Professional conduct, ethics and the legal aspects of professional responsibility. Self-presentation, the standard application form and the CV.Introduction to psychometric testing criteria and interpretation.Engineering ethics.Societal and contemporary issues.
